Community Acupuncture

Community acupuncture is offered in a multi-patient setting where all patients receive acupuncture at the same time. This setting provides an affordable alternative to individual acupuncture, optimizing the patient health benefits while lowering barriers to treatment.

You do not need to undress (just roll your sleeves up to your elbows and your pants up to your knees). People rest for as little as 30 minutes or as long as two hours but we let you decide exactly how long you want to retain the needles. Most patients feel done after about 45 minutes. When your treatment is done (your body will know), just make eye contact with the acupuncturist, or raise your hand and they will come over and take your needles out.

Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it is easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together and many patients find it comforting. We talk in low voices in the community room in order to respect privacy.
